Tackling hunger in the UK

Since 2021, we’ve been working with our unique network of customers, restaurants, grocery partners and riders to help tackle hunger in the UK.

Hear from Ty'rone

We've partnered with Ty'rone Haughton, a spoken word poet, to put into words the importance of the Trussell Trust’s incredible work.

Partnering with the Trussell Trust

In 2022, Deliveroo partnered with the Trussell Trust, who support a network of 1,300 food bank centres across the UK. We helped to provide two million meals and vital support to hundreds of thousands of people facing hunger.

This year, we’re expanding our partnership to help provide a further two million meals, raise money for its food bank network, and help fund associated mental health and financial support services.

The generosity of Deliveroo and its customers has been invaluable, helping ensure that food banks in the Trussell Trust network are able to support everyone who turns to them, as well as funding wider support programmes that help lift people out of poverty and ensure they can afford the essentials.

We provide hundreds of volunteers to the Trussell Trust as part of our UK employee volunteering scheme - 'The Big Deliver’.

This year, teams from across Deliveroo will also be able to team up with their counterparts at the Trussell Trust to help lend their expertise.

Fighting food waste and tackling hunger

In 2022 we launched a new partnership with The Felix Project and Too Good To Go to deliver surplus food to people facing hunger via our Hop grocery sites.

Too Good To Go is all about reducing food waste and in doing so, enabling people to access quality food in a more affordable way, and in a way that does right by our planet too.

We’re proud to have Deliveroo on board and joining us in the fight against food waste, and I can’t wait to see the continued impact of our partnership in the coming weeks, months and years ahead.

Delivering our first one million meals

The launch of our Full Life campaign in 2021 saw us partner with Pret A Manger, Co-op and Waitrose to successfully deliver one million meals to families in need across the UK, through charity partners Felix Project, FareShare and The Pret Foundation.
